Colben S.r.l., established in 1967 and headquartered in San Vito di Leguzzano (Vicenza, Italy), is a metalworking company recognized for its dynamic and innovative approach. Supported by a highly skilled and qualified team of professionals, Colben effectively meets customers’ specific requirements, delivering expertise, reliability, and technical excellence.

Colben positions itself as a trusted partner in the manufacturing of precision mechanical components and assemblies, utilizing fabricated welded structures, forgings, and rolled products. At the same time, the company maintains the production capacity required to provide subcontract machining services, including cast components, through a machine park comprising 2 Gantry machining centers, 3 milling/boring machines, and 2 multitasking machining centers.

Maximum machining capacities:

X-axis: 12,000 mm

Y-axis: 4,500 mm

Z-axis: 1,600 mm

Rotary diameter: 4,000 mm

Maximum workpiece weight: 40 tonnes

Thanks to a highly consolidated supply chain, Colben can ensure the supply of components subjected to heat treatment, thermochemical processing, and surface treatments, as well as offering comprehensive painting/coating and assembly services.

The assurance of a high-quality product begins with the careful analysis and selection of raw materials. Colben specializes in the manufacturing of components made from carbon steels, quenched and tempered steels, and non-ferrous alloys, including aluminum, bronze, and brass.

The company has also developed extensive expertise in specialized industrial sectors, acquiring advanced know-how in the machining of high-performance alloys for demanding applications. These materials offer superior mechanical properties, excellent low-temperature performance, controlled magnetic permeability, and other characteristics specifically engineered to ensure reliability in the most critical operating environments.

Quality is the key driver throughout every stage of the product lifecycle, from customer requirement analysis to final delivery and inspection. Through a dedicated team qualified to perform Level II Non-Destructive Testing (VT and PT), a climate-controlled inspection environment, and a metrology laboratory equipped with API Laser systems and Hexagon HXGN software for CMM measurements on Soraluce machines, Colben provides customers with a fully certified and traceable service, from raw material procurement through to final product delivery.

The entire production and supply chain is managed through an integrated ERP, MRP, and MES system, supported by component identification and marking, as well as periodic supplier audits, ensuring the highest standards of quality assurance and traceability.

A fundamental aspect of guaranteeing superior product quality is maintaining machine tools in optimal condition from mechanical, electronic, geometric, and dimensional perspectives. Maintenance activities are performed according to a structured preventive maintenance program, complemented by annual planning for major critical interventions. Machine geometry is periodically monitored using API laser measurement systems, followed by verification with calibrated reference bars. Upon request, machine conformity certificates can be issued.

Colben is certified according to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 19443:2022, thereby ensuring the highest quality standards for the manufacture of products intended for the nuclear sector, including ITNS (Items Important to Nuclear Safety). The company supplies high-precision components manufactured from advanced materials, with extremely tight tolerances and subject to stringent quality controls and CFS documentation requirements.

Beyond its industrial expertise, Colben is strongly committed to supporting local communities, young people, and educational institutions. The company actively promotes STEM initiatives and programs aimed at reducing the skills and cultural gap between education and industry. In recent years, Colben has established significant partnerships with vocational schools and the ITS Meccatronica Foundation, contributing personnel, technical expertise, and innovative know-how to support the development of future generations of skilled professionals.
